Our classes are organized by age groups. Some students may demonstrate readiness to transition into the next level before they reach the lower age limit, while others may benefit from more time in a younger age group. At Sah Doh Kuk Sul of Crystal Lake, we try to match students into classes that will set them up for success.

Tiny Tigers (ages 4-6)

Designed to introduce young children to martial arts, our Tiny Tigers program provides students a safe environment to grow physically, mentally, and socially. Each class will engage students in activities to condition both their body and mind, preparing them to join the children's class at their own pace. Our Tiny Tigers curriculum draws from what older children and adults learn, but is broken down into smaller goals. This helps students internalize and measure their progress at an age-appropriate pace, while allowing growth in areas that will set them up for success at school and beyond. Once Tiny Tigers have demonstrated their readiness physically, mentally, and socially, they will be invited to transition to the children's class.

Children (ages 7-13)

For school-aged children, this is both a wonderful and a challenging time of their lives. We strive to teach beyond the martial arts classroom, to benefit students in every environment. Martial arts training goes beyond physical skills, engaging both the body and mind. Students in this class will develop self-confidence, leadership, and communication skills, while also mastering balance, coordination, and mental focus.

Adults (ages 13+)

Our adult classes accept students 13 and up of all fitness levels. Whether you are a seasoned fitness buff or looking to begin your journey to a healthier you, Sah Doh Kuk Sul can help you reach your goals. Our curriculum is expertly developed to allow for lifelong training. While we encourage our students to push themselves to do their best, we understand that every body is different, and that some even come with a history of injuries. Come train with us to improve your flexibility, strength, and overall conditioning in a positive and warm atmosphere.

Women's Self Defense Workshops

Created and led by women, this workshop will train both young and adult women in situational awareness, as well as skills that can be used in self-defense situations. Based on Kuk Sul, the skills taught in this class are easy to bring into the real world. Join us as we empower women of all ages, building confidence and courage together!
